Media Release: WTFest Music Festival Adds Dry County To Headline Free Show On June 24th at Lions Park In Brantford
Brantford’s biggest music festival, wtfest.ca has announced that outlaw country-rock outfit Dry County will headline a free show on June 24th atLions Park, Brantford, Ontario. Dry County will be supported by the four finalists from the WTFest Battle of the Bands competition, which take place on June 3rd and June 10th at Club NV – Brantford – ON (234 Colborne St)in Brantford.
“Dry County is pumped about performing at WTFest 2016. It has been a long time since we have got to perform for our fans in Brantford so there is no better venue for our return than WTFest,” commented Dry County’s Jeff Gallagher. “The team at WTFest have done an great job at putting together an amazing festival and killer line up of entertainers. We are stoked about being part of this event, and can’t wait to see everyone there.”
Originally formed in 1998, Dry County established itself as a high energy act infusing outlaw country with southern rock. The band’s music has been played on countless radio stations across North America, were featured on UFC 87, and had their music thrust into the spotlight on the MTV reality series “Buckwild”. Backed by their legions of fans, Dry County released their new album “Hell Or High Water” in March and peaked at #12 on the country albums sales chart on iTunes in Canada.
WTFest returns on June 25th, 2016 at Lions Park headlined by Canadian hard rock outfit Billy Talent, Monster Truck, Saint Asonia, and The Standstills. WTFest will also feature a second Budweiser stage with performances by some of the best upcoming talent from the Southern Ontario scene, including the Ascot Royals, A REBEL FEW, Quick Wicked,Harbour, Logan Staats, Steven Ryan, Harlot Affair, Crimson Breed, Jim Dan Dee, and Hey Brother.
WTFest launched in 2015, as a two-day outdoor music festival in Brantford, Ontario headlined by Big Wreck, Hedley and featured performances by The Trews, I Mother Earth, and USS. The festival is the brainchild of Jamie Stephens from JSE Events, and Lance and Mark Calbeck from Calbeck Investments, who launched WTFest in an effort to bring a major music festival back to the “Telephone City”. The first year festival attracted a crowd of over 7,000 fans and fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement 2016 lineup.
