Forget Me Not Golf Tournament
It was a beautiful day for golf on Saturday, May 28th as theAlzheimer Societies of Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk, and Hamilton-Halton prepared for their annual Golf Tournament.
The golfers arrived at the Paris Grand Country Club around noon to register and grab a bite to eat. Beside the registration booth, the organization had many items to bid on for their silent auction and raffle draw. Then at 1pm, the group set off to play a great game of golf.
Thanks to the golfers, and community support last year’s tournament was able to raise $10,000. This year they were thrilled to announce that they had already raised $14,000, with more to come from their draws later that evening.
Special thanks goes out to Scotiabank for matching registration money and to Paris Grand for hosting the tournament each year.
Make sure to Be Seen playing some golf at next year’s event!

Ethan’s 3rd Annual Lemonade Stand
It was a #BRANTastic and warm day on Saturday, May 28th – a perfect occasion for a cup of refreshing lemonade!
The parking lot of the SWEET Bakery and Strodes BBQ & Deli / Strodes Express plaza was packed as people lined up to get their lemonade and to experience the amazing activities. The crowds were welcomed by Ethan and a frenzie of lights from the Fire, Police and Ambulance trucks that came to show their support. And the kids were welcomed by Disney Princesses Ana and Belle as well as Thor, Captain America and Captain Jack Sparrow. People also had the chance to get their face painted and check out the fun activities from the Bellhallow LARP group and some axe throwing.
Ethan and his parents were thrilled to see so many people enjoying the event. This year they squeezed 800 lemons and used 60 pounds of sugar to make all the lemonade they needed for the event. They were also very grateful for the help they received from all the volunteers who donated their time to help out. And to all of the community supporters who donated prizes or items for the lemonade and raffle draw.
So far, Ethan has just made the half-way point in his efforts to raise one million dimes to find a cure for Juvenile Arthritis. After the event today, they’re hoping to make another big leap toward his goal. Thanks to the wonderful community support and from supporters who even came from Cambridge, Newmarket, and Niagara Falls, Team Ethan is sure to reach their goal soon.
Make sure to Be Seen donating lots of dimes to Ethan and enjoying some lemonade at next year’s event!

14th Annual GIANT Warehouse Sale
In spite of the crazy heat and humidity, many, many people showed up for the 14th Annual Giant Warehouse Sale held by the Brant United Way. Hundreds of volunteers in bright red and yellow t-shirts shuttled shoppers from cars to carts to raise funds for the Brant United Way member agencies and our community. It is such a popular event with huge savings on every day products. They’ve modified the shopping experience by introducing a new wrist band policy. I spoke with organizers and shoppers and they all seemed extremely pleased with the new policy.
People came away with enormous shopping carts overflowing with savings on everyday items used around the house. They were more than happy to #BeSeen by #BeSceneat the #TheGiant warehouse sale. Kudos to the organizers for all of their hard work to support our community!

Behind the Scene -2nd Annual Cedarland Food Truck Rally
I was happy to attend the 2nd Annual Cedarland Food Truck Rally. The threatened rain held off and the crowds came. I lined up for pulled pork and coleslaw on a bun. It was so worth the wait. Other offerings besides the Smoke Truck were The Greek Truck and the German Truck followed by the Rice Crispy Treat Truck for dessert. It was an amazing time at Cedarland School. I was so happy; I didn’t have to cook dinner.
