The enchanting and alluring aroma of fresh cut flowers fills the air inside Brantford Blooms. From the moment you enter and are greeted by owner Olga, or one of her staff, you can rest assured that whatever your floral needs may be, that they will be filled. Olga has worked with flowers for over 15 years, she graduated from Mohawk College in Hamilton having taken courses in floral technique. She soon began a career at a local florist where she perfected her craft. In 2013 she opened Brantford Blooms and has garnered a wonderful reputation for her outstanding displays, wonderful service, and contributions to the community.

Brantford Blooms offers a wide selection of fresh cut flowers as well as indoor and outdoor planters. You can choose from so many different styles of classic, exotic, and unique flowers. Many coming from local greenhouses, and many more coming from all over the world. The coolers are always stocked with a wide selection of flowers waiting to be picked up or delivered. They have daily deliveries and if, for some reason they don’t have what you need immediately, they can order it in. Of course, they offer quick and local delivery to the entire region, and can even handle international orders.
Olga is well known for her event bouquets. Any event you could image, she can design the perfect floral arrangement for you. Many of her clientele are regulars for a reason. World Nutella Day 2016
The entire Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre was full of delight as people enjoyed the activities of World Nutella Day on Friday, February 5th.
The lobby and activity rooms were all packed with people experiencing the delicious spread with pancakes, desserts, and even two types of chili. The tasty treats were created for the Bakers Challenge and were brought in from the Blue Dog Coffee Roasters, Freedom House, Gus & Guidos, Home Baking By Carolyn, Rossini Lodge, Solely Cannoli, Strodes BBQ & Deli / Strodes Express, and SWEET Bakery. Guests were also greeted by the Hulk and Witch Hazel, Captain Kindness, and our Town Crier David McKee.

2016 Men’s Tankard
This week, the City of Brantford and the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centreis hosting Ontario’s 2016 Men’s Tankard for Curling.

11th Annual Sports Recognition Banquet
The Ballroom of the Brantford Golf & Country Club was full of excitement and anticipation on Thursday, February 4th for the 11th Annual Sports Recognition Banquet. Many people came out to congratulate and support the efforts and dedication of the athletes and volunteers that were nominated. Each year, the Brantford Sports Council awards nominees through 10 award categories that honour leadership, volunteerism, and coaching.

With 90 years of volunteerism between the nominees, it was decided to award all of them with the award this year

The final award was the 2015 Frank Tomlin Award for Brantford’s Sportsman of the Year. Congratulations to David Hearn for all his efforts in the sport of Golf.

D&D United Martial Arts had eight competitors return from the 2016 ICOMA World Championships in Mexico. Bringing with them a total of 24 medals (eight gold, eight silver, & eight bronze) and two Triple Crown winners (three golds).
